Georgia's defense scored the first points of the day to start a 16-0 run, and one drive after Michigan State's offense finally got on the board, the Spartan defense returned an Aaron Murray interception to give MSU its second touchdown of the third quarter. The Bulldogs now lead by only two, 16-14.

Both teams traded punts after the Spartans scored to cut the lead 16-8, then Murray was picked off by MSU’s Darqueze Dennard for a 38-yard touchdown return, the second interception of Murray by Dennard on the day, and in the third quarter.
Georgia has managed only 44 yards of total offense in the third quarter, while Sparty’s 77 yards has matched and exceed their entire first half output.
