Ronald Powell Injury: Florida Pass Rusher Tears ACL

The Florida Gators lost defensive lineman Ronald Powell to a torn ACL in their Spring Game on Saturday.

The Florida Gators held their annual spring game on Saturday afternoon and had some positive signs on the offensive side of the football. On the defensive side of the ball, however, the Gators got some bad news on Monday morning as Rachel George of the Orlando Sentinel shares that defensive lineman Ronald Powell has suffered a torn ACL.

While it’s estimated Powell’s recovery time will be four to six months, it’s highly unlikely that Powell will be available for the Gators in the 2012 season unless it’s late in the season. As George notes later on on Twitter, Powell was drew praise for a nice set of spring practices.

The Gators now have two starting defensive lineman recovering from torn ACL, as defensive tackle Dominique Easley injured his ACL in November.
