Stanford’s Shayne Skov Reinstated With 1-Game Suspension

Stanford star linebacker Shayne Skov was arrested on a DUI charge back in February and was set to face punishment. Skov, who's recovering from a season ending injury in 2011, has been re-instated to the Stanford football team.

The junior linebacker was one of the best players on the Stanford defense in 2011 and lead the team in tackles as a sophomore in 2010. Skov is expected to be a vital part of the Cardinal defense in 2012, even with missing the season opener against San Jose State University.

Stanford head coach David Shaw also mentioned that Skov is close to fully recovering. “His rehab is going very well and he is close to being at 100 percent,” Shaw said in an e-mail release from the school.
