VIDEO: How To Not Worry About The College Football Playoffs Standoff
College football’s playoff, which seemed only weeks ago to be unavoidable, has now entered the treacherous part of its story. Old guys in Nebraska say they prefer the Bluebonnet Bowl, rich people out west just start spitballin’, a boring man up north comes up with dozens of bad ideas every day, and the lawless horde at the bottom of the map wants every game played on a smoke rack at the equator.
But fear not, college football fan! Despite the discord, we are getting a playoff.
It won’t be perfect, and it will change in some small, obnoxious way every year, and at least one team will be dazzlingly screwed every season, but it’s a playoff, and it’s coming.
Watch as Spencer Hall and I, in a special addendum to this week’s Shutdown Fullback, explain the basic battle lines and each camp’s major contention (full disclosure: we have no idea what the Pac-12 is talking about), and walk away with renewed confidence in the playoffs arriving in 2014.
