Zack Golditch, an offensive tackle at Aurora, Colorado’s Gateway High School, was injured in the Century 16 Theater shooting Friday morning that claimed the lives of 14 people, Coloradoan.com reports. Golditch was released from a nearby hospital shortly after. He was with current CSU player David Anderson, a former high school teammate -- Anderson was unharmed.

His frightening account sounds similar to those of many other witnesses. From Matt L. Stephens’ report:

“It was at the scene of the movie where a firearm was pulled and shots were fired. It kind of sounded like black cats went off,” said Golditch, who committed to Colorado State University in June. “Everyone kind of looked around the theater and this guy had like a hole in his arm. Everyone just thought they were firecrackers so we turned back to the movie, and that’s when my ears started ringing and I fell on my friend. I was fearful of another firecracker coming to hit me.”

Golditch also held offers from Colorado, Wyoming and Air Force before selecting the Rams early on. He’s one of new coach Jim McElwain’s six commitments for the 2013 class, which also includes two other offensive linemen.
