Ferentz’ statement on the dismissal was curt:
“I am disappointed that things didn’t work out better for De’Andre,” said Ferentz. “We wish him all the best moving forward.“Johnson had 18 carries for 79 yards for Iowa as a freshman in 2011, but could have been one of Iowa’s key contributors in 2012, as the Angry Iowa Running Back-Hating God has struck down the Hawkeyes and left them with little more than an old poster for Waterworld in the backfield.

Getty ImagesJohnson was pulled over for speeding on a motorcycle in Iowa City on Saturday night — doing 60 in a 25 mph zone, apparently — but did not immediately pull over for officers. Then, after being pulled over, he put the motorcycle in grass behind another vehicle, and told officers it belonged to a fictional “Jake,” according to the complaint.
Eluding is a serious misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail.
