There was no mention of convicted child molester and former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky in the 868-page FBI file on coach Joe Paterno, according to the Associated Press.

The file that contained mostly threatening letters has been released per the Freedom of information Act in response to media requests for the document. Among the most notable elements of the file was a series of letters by the parent of an estranged player.

An excerpt from one of the letters read, “I feel you are responsible for me (sic) loosing my son,” writes the author, known only as “A Bitter Father.” “He went to Penn State because of you in the first place. He feels he got a bum deal and I agree. He lost interest in everything and went from bad to worse.”

Another letter blames Paterno for a “tragic accident” associated with one of the assistant coaches, but does not specify what the accident was.

Paterno passed away in January at the age of 85.
