No longer led offensively by Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon, the Cowboys are going to have a much tougher time taking the Big 12 title in 2012 than in last season, a year that would have seen the 'Boys head to the national championship if not for a loss to Iowa State.
There should be no excuses for OSU to not start 1-0, though, with one of the worst teams to ever grace their schedule heading into Boone Pickens Stadium. Savannah State is a lowly FCS team that hasn’t won more than three games in a season in the past decade and will be facing their first ever major college competition in OSU.
Offensive offseason losses or not, there should be no issues for the Cowboys and freshman starting QB Wes Lunt in dismantling the Tigers for their first win of the year.
