The Oregon Ducks have lost top offensive lineman Carson York for the season, according to tweets from Rob Moseley of The Register-Guard. York sustained a right knee injury early in Saturday's game, a 42-25 win over Fresno State. It is the same knee York injured in the 2011 Rose Bowl, but it is unclear whether the two injuries are related. York does not believe he has suffered ligament damange, but will require surgery to repair a broken patella.

The Oregon Ducks have lost offensive line standout Carson York after the guard suffered a right knee injury that will require season-ending surgery. York was on the watch lists for multiple lineman awards and was already ranked highly among draft prospects at his position.
York was one of the last two remaining position starters from the 2012 Ducks team that reached the BCS National Championship game. The other, safety John Boyett, will also require season-ending knee surgery.
York, a senior, started all 14 games of the 2011 season as the Ducks’ right guard, contributing to an offensive unit that was No. 3 in the nation in scoring, fifth in rushing and sixth in total offense. He was expected to have another strong season in 2012 and had been named to watch lists for two lineman awards, the Rotary Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy. York was also highly ranked among offensive line prospects expected to declare for the 2013 NFL Draft.
