Texas Vs. Ole Miss Final Score

The No. 14 Texas Longhorns dominated Ole Miss on Saturday night, winning easily 66-31 thanks to a tremendous game by quarterback David Ash.

The Longhorns would take a 31-10 lead into halftime, holding off what had been a fairly aggressive offensive attack by the Rebels with an aggressive pass rush and an opportunistic secondary. Marquise Goodwin raced for a 69-yard touchdown and Ash would cap off two lengthy drives with touchdowns to end the half with the Longhorns taking complete control of the game.

Ole Miss and Texas would trade touchdowns in the third quarter with several big plays by both teams but the Longhorns possessed too many weapons and too hot a quarterback to allow a comeback by the home-team Rebels.

David Ash was nearly perfect on the night, going 19-of-23 for 326 yards and four touchdowns, finally showing the aggressive attack downfield the coaches had been looking for all season.

The Longhorns would put up an extraordinarily balanced offensive attack, with 326 yards through the air and 250 yards rushing. Malcom Brown led the way on the ground with 128 yards on 21 carries.

Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace was 13-of-24 for 178 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions.

Box Score Hero: David Ash threw four touchdowns in his first big game as the Texas quarterback

Rankings Ramifications: The Longhorns beat an SEC team on the road, putting up nearly 700 yards of total offense. It’s likely the win gives them a slight bump from their current No. 14 ranking.

But Did They Cover? The Longhorns easily covered the 12-point spread.
