Oklahoma Vs. UTEP Final Score: Oklahoma Underwhelms In 24-7 Victory Over UTEP

Being ranked at No. 4 in the nation comes with expectations. The University of Oklahoma was expected to blow-out University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), but ended up with a modest, competitive score of 24-7.

UTEP would start of the scoring a little over halfway through the first quarter. The Sooners were stunned when UTEP blocked a punt and Nathan Jeffrey ran for 24 yards in to the end zone and followed by a successful point after. With five minutes left in the first, quarterback Landry Jones would pass to Kenny Stills for a 68-yard touchdown. After a successful PAT, the game was tied 7-7.

That would be it for UTEP's offense. They were unable to reach the end-zone again that night. The Sooners would score a field goal in the third quarter putting them up 10-7. To close the game, Oklahoma scored two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter on an 18-yard Brannon Green reception and a 65 yard run from Damien Williams. The final score: Oklahoma - 24, UTEP - 7.

Box Score Hero: Oklahoma running back Damien Williams had 104 yards on nine carries.

Rankings Ramifications: Win doesn’t really do anything for Oklahoma. They probably should have had a higher score, but that won’t change any hearts and minds with the AP

But Did They Cover? The Miners struck gold and covered the spread with +30.5
