West Virginia, which enters the game as the No. 8 team in the latest AP Poll, will look for another Heisman-like performance from quarterback Geno Smith. Through the first two games of West Virginia’s season, Smith is 66-of-75 passing, good for a staggering 88-percent completion rate, as well as 734 yards and nine touchdowns. Smith has yet to throw an interception this year.
The Mountaineers also have threats on the ground, too. Shawne Alston has carried the ball 30 times for 185 yards and three touchdowns, while Andrew Buie has 13 carries for 111 yards and a touchdown.
Maryland will look to stop West Virginia's potent offense. The Terrapins are coming off of a 24-21 loss against the Connecticut Huskies -- the same Huskies that Maryland head coach Randy Edsall used to coach.
If the Terrapins are going to have a chance on Saturday, they’ll certainly need to be able to put up points, which is something they haven’t done so far in 2012 by averaging just 21.3 points per game.
Game time, TV channel: 12 p.m. ET, FX
Point spread: West Virginia favored by 28
