Ohio State is coming off of a thrilling 35-28 victory over California. Devin Smith caught a 72-yard touchdown pass from Braxton Miller with 3:26 left in the game, giving Ohio State its third win of the season.
UAB, meanwhile, is coming off of a 49-6 drubbing at the hands of Steve Spurrier and South Carolina. The Blazers surrendered 501 yards of total offense in the loss, including 179 yards on the ground.
With Ohio State currently boasting the 22nd-best rushing game in the country, averaging 237.7 yards per game on the ground, the Buckeyes are certainly poised to have another strong offensive performance.
UAB’s own running game, however, was limited to just 27 yards on the ground against the Gamecocks. The Blazers averaged an embarrassing 0.6 yards per carry in that loss, and will certainly need to run the ball much more effectively to have a chance at the upset against Ohio State.
