Oregon Vs. Arizona 2012 Highlights Video: Ducks Pitch A Shutout

The Oregon Ducks manhandled the Arizona Wildcats 49-0, and it was pretty much a defensive performance of the highest caliber. You'll see a few of the usual offensive highlights in Oregon's 49-0 victory over Arizona, but there was no denying the defense was the main star of the night.

Marcus Mariota threw some nice football passes, particularly on Oregon's first scoring drive to find Daryle Hawkins and later on to blow things open with a 55-yard connection to Bralon Addison. Backup quarterback Bryan Bennett and tight end/H-Back Colt Lylerla would also come in and have a most unusual zone-read exchange that had both of them stumbling into the end zone for another Duck touchdown.

But it was the Oregon defense that held Arizona in check, forcing them to only 4.0 yards per play and forcing five Arizona turnovers, including three Matt Scott interceptions. Arizona managed six red zone trips and scored zero points, an astonishing stat on its own. That pick-six by Scott in the highlights landed in the hands of Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, who took it 54 yards to the house. Oregon would add another pick-six on backup QB B.J. Denker in extended garbage time.
