The first FBS title game using the playoff format will be held in 2015, and there are six cities currently being considered to host that game. According to ESPN.com, those six cities include Glendale. Ariz.; Miami; New Orleans; Pasadena, Calif.; Atlanta; and Arlington, Texas. The game is scheduled for Jan. 12, 2015, and the final decision on where it will be held is expected to be announced early next year.
College Football’s First Playoff Title Game To Be In 1 Of These 6 Cities
The BCS has reportedly narrowed down its list of cities to host the 2015 Division I football title game to six finalists. That will be the first title decided using a playoff format.
BCS reps were originally planning to open up the process to any city interested in hosting the game, but decided to narrow down the field due to the limited time remaining before the contest. Indianapolis, Detroit, St. Louis, Orlando, Houston, San Diego, Jacksonville and Tampa were other cities expected to be interested in bidding to host the title game. Bidding for FBS title games after 2015 will still be open to any city interested in hosting the event.
