Alabama wide receiver commit Deon Johnson was arrested by authorities on Thursday on charges of second-degree rape and sodomy according to a report by Andrew Gribble of AL.com.

The Spanish Fort High School star was booked at Baldwin County Corrections Center at 8:43 p.m. ET on Thursday. According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s website Johnson was released on $20,000 bond.

Johnson, 18, is a three-star Rivals recruit that committed to the Crimson Tide in April of 2012 over offers from LSU, Auburn and Mississippi State. Johnson gained 110 yards of total offense including a 60-yard touchdown catch in Spanish Fort’s win over Daphne High on Monday.

The 6-foot-1 Johnson caught 63 passes and recorded 19 touchdowns as a junior last season.

According to Gribble, a woman answered the phone at Johnson’s residence and gave a no comment to any questions.
