The No. 23 Louisville Cardinals will face the Missouri State Bears on Saturday, looking to improve to 2-0 and improve their standing in the polls. They opened the season with a 32-14 win over the Kentucky Wildcats, while Missouri State lost their opener to Kansas State, 51-9.

There’s a significant disparity between their performances in Week 1, but Louisville head coach Charlie Strong is giving the standard line about not taking the Bears lightly:

“They return all starters on defense. Eleven starters coming back on defense. So, it will be a great challenge. Our challenge is going to be getting our players ready to go play.”

The Louisville offense is headed by sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who was 19-for-21 for 232 yards with three touchdowns in Week 1. Senorise Perry and Jeremy Wright formed a 1-2 rushing attack, with both men gaining over 100 yards. The defense picked up two sacks and recovered two fumbles on the ground against Kentucky, but gave up 373 total yards.

For much of their game vs. Kansas State, Missouri State looked like it was capable of pulling off an upset. It was tied 9-9 as late as midway through the third quarter, but a late collapse and a 35-point fourth quarter for Kansas State resulted in the lopsided loss.

Game time, TV channel: 3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN3

Point spread: No Odds Given
