USC Vs. Syracuse: Severe Weather Delays Start Of 2nd Half

The start of the second half of the game between USC and Syracuse at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ has been delayed due to severe weather with the Trojans leading, 14-3.

The lead referee delayed the start of the third quarter in response to approaching severe weather. Much of the Northeast is under severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings on Saturday.

The two teams were ordered back to the locker room, as the storm system was moving “very quickly” according to the broadcast on ABC. The delay is expected to last 30 to 40 minutes.

Matt Barkley led the Trojans to a halftime lead, going 13-17 for 112 yards and two touchdowns. He connected with both of his star receivers, Marqise Lee and Robert Woods, for scores in the second quarter. Another pic:
