Florida Vs. Texas A&M Final Score: Florida Rallies On The Road, Wins 20-17

The No. 24 Florida Gators defense put the clamps on the Texas A&M Aggies in the second half as the Gators rallied from a 17-7 deficit to win their first SEC game, 20-17.

The Aggies offense was running all over the Gators in the first half but the defense clamped down starting in the third quarter. The Gators forced the Aggies to two quick 3-and-outs in the third quarter as they slowly started to whittle away the lead.

Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel connected with senior tight end Omarius Hines on a big 39-yard pass to set up a red-zone attempt to start the fourth quarter. The Gators converted as running back Mike Gillislee ran in his second touchdown of the day and the Gators took a 20-17 lead.

This was Texas A&M’s first SEC game after the school departed from the Big-12 conference.

Box Score Hero: Running back Mike Gillislee kept the Gators in the game, rushing for 83 yards on 14 carries and scoring two touchdowns along the way.

Rankings Ramifications: Texas A&M was garnering a few votes in the polls but, with the loss, they are most likely going to be out of that conversation next week. With no real upset ahead of them, Florida will most likely remain around No. 24.

But Did They Cover? It was a small 1.5-point spread for Florida, so just barely.
