Sometimes lost amidst the flashy, ever-changing, never-ending uniform combinations, the fancy locker room and other facilities, and its relationship with Nike is one fact: Oregon can run the football.
Oregon Football Stats: De’Anthony Thomas, Kenjon Barner Racking Up Yards
The Oregon Ducks currently lead Fresno State 35-6 at halftime, and their running backs are piling up the yards. In just one half, Kenjon Barner has 131 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. That's a cool 7.7 yards-per-carry average, but nothing compared to what De'Anthony Thomas has done. The "Black Mamba" has rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries. (Yes, that's 20 yards per carry.)
As if that isn't enough, quarterback Marcus Mariota posted 47 rushing yards of his own.
All that helps Oregon’s stats add up to 392 yards of offense. After Barner and Thomas rushed for 66 and 64 yards in limited time last week, it looks like Chip Kelly has released the beast against Fresno State.
