Unquestionably, every college football underclassmen says they want to return for their senior season, particularly during the season.
Logan Thomas has no NFL Draft plans
With his stock falling, the Virginia Tech quarterback is one of several juniors having bad seasons

Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas is the latest underclassmen to say he plans to play another season of college football.
“I’ve always told everybody that I’m planning on coming back for my last one,” Thomas told reporters recently.
After much preseason hype, Thomas has been mired in a poor season. His completion percentage is down to 53.6 percent compared to 59.8 percent last season. He’s thrown almost as many interceptions (10) as touchdowns (13). He’s thrown an interception in each of the last six Hokies games. The only times he’s completed more than 60 percent of his passes was against Austin Peay and Duke – hardly defensive dynamos.
Entering the year, Thomas received top marks because of his potential. At 6-foot-6, 260 pounds, Thomas looked like the next Cam Newton (that was a good thing before the season).
This season, Thomas is trying to stay in the pocket more and go through his progressions. Last season, Thomas was more prone to pull the ball and run. As a pocket passer, he just hasn’t shown the acumen to read a defense and consistently connect on difficult throws.
Thomas often gets poor ball placement, but its not helped by a suspect wide receiver group. Still, he has mechanical flaws in his footwork that lead to slips in accuracy.
The Hokies’ signal caller isn’t the only junior quarterback prospect struggling this season. Tyler Bray of Tennessee was threatened with a benching recently. LSU’s Zach Mettenberger has seemingly gotten worse as the season has progressed and only thrown three touchdowns in his last five games. Georgia’s Aaron Murray is coming off a three-interception game against Florida.
The top junior quarterback spot could be given to Alabama’s A.J. McCarron. Though he lacks the physical tools of the previously mentioned juniors, he consistently performs at a top level and looks to have a stronger arm this season.
But the question for Thomas and the other juniors is whether or not they should enter the NFL Draft despite a down year. Thomas has just four games to rebound his stock.
