Senior Bowl 2013: Montee Ball replaced by Robbie Rouse
Wisconsin running back Montee Ball has dropped out of the 2013 Senior Bowl, and has been replaced by Fresno State’s Robbie Rouse on the roster. Can Rouse overcome concerns about his size and boost his draft stock?

Ball has plenty of game tape at his disposal to impress scouts, and as result doesn’t need to subject himself to close scrutiny at the Senior Bowl. He scored an NCAA record 83 touchdowns over his college career. This past season, he averaged 5.1 yards per carry on his way to 1,830 yards on the ground and 22 touchdowns. Ball is expected to perform in front of scouts at February’s NFL Combine.
Rouse has much more to prove, after rushing for 1,490 yards and 12 touchdowns against mostly Mountain West competition last season. He is ranked No. 16 on Dan Kadar’s ranking of the best running backs in this year’s draft (Ball is No. 9). Rouse proved rugged in his career, carrying the ball 611 over his final two seasons. Questions about his size and lack of elite quickness could drop him into the later stages of April’s draft, however.
