Sometimes mock drafts are staggeringly predictable, with scouts seemingly coming together to agree on a Top 10 in January and then spending the next four months making only minor adjustments just so readers don’t think they’re slacking. Then you have years like 2013, where no one can agree on anything.
2013 NFL mock draft: Geno Smith, Zach Ertz moving up the board
2013 NFL mock drafts seem to feature much more variance than years past. The latest from NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah includes Geno Smith at No. 7, Cordarrelle Patterson in the Top 10, Zach Ertz up to No. 13 and Cornellius Carradine in the first round.

Just take NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, for instance, who has Geno Smith going No. 7 to the Arizona Cardinals, and compare him to Mel Kiper (zero quarterbacks in the first round) and SB Nation's own Matthew Fairburn (Smith going No. 1 to the Kansas City Chiefs).
Jeremiah, a former NFL scout, had several interesting takes on the draft, including bumping Tennessee wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson up to a Top 10 pick (No. 23 according to Fairburn), making Stanford tight end Zach Ertz the first tight end taken at No. 13 (Fairburn had Tyler Eifert at No. 32), and sliding Florida State defensive end Cornellius Carradine into the bottom of the first round to the New England Patriots. Be sure to check out Jeremiah's full first round mock draft for more. Here is his Top 10:
