To say that the collegiate career of Dayne Crist wasn't ideal would be an understatement. A highly ranked recruit, Crist transferred from Notre Dame after he was benched in favor of Tommy Rees. He joined the Kansas Jayhawks in 2012, a year where the team won just one game, and he was eventually benched in favor of Michael Cummings.
NFLPA Collegiate Bowl 2013: Dayne Crist
Crist recorded passing and rushing touchdowns early in the 2013 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl to lead the National team to a 34-0 victory.

However, Crist is still a physically talented thrower and he showed as much during the week of practices at the 2013 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, establishing himself as one of the two best quarterbacks at the all-star game, according to ESPN’s Bill Polian.
On Saturday, he finished a strong week of practices with a strong performance at the game, leading the National team to a 34-0 win over the American team. Crist completed 7-of-10 passes for 61 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing in for a one-yard touchdown score. The two early scores via Crist got the National team a 14-0 lead, which they parlayed into a domination.
With knee injuries and a poor collegiate career, Crist is very unlikely to be drafted, but with the physical tools necessary, and a strong performance at the NFLPA Bowl, he’ll almost certainly get a chance to show his abilities in an NFL training camp.
