The collegiate all-star games offer opportunities for many players to show their abilities to scouts, but it’s perhaps most advantageous for players that are not household names, as they can perform against some of the more well-known players in the nation. One such player was Rice tight end Luke Wilson, who drew the praises of ESPN’s Todd McShay and Bill Polian after finishing with three receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown.

The 6’5, 252-pound tight end certainly has the size necessary to be an NFL tight end, but he didn’t quite put up the numbers. In his senior season, Wilson struggled with nagging injuries and caught just nine passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
However, Wilson showed the athleticism and ability necessary to perhaps open the eyes of NFL scouts looking for a hidden gem. Wilson was a fourth-round selection of the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League Draft.
