The 2013 Senior Bowl finished its first practice on Monday. Although the the players didn’t practice in pads, there were still some impressive plays and exciting 1-on-1 matchups. Let’s take a look at who stood out.

* The quarterback competition will be one of the most interesting storylines of the week as guys look to stand out from the muddled class. Syracuse's Ryan Nassib and NC State's Mike Glennon are slowly gaining more hype, but neither did much to help or hurt their cases Monday. Eric Galko of Optimum Scouting didn't see a major difference in their arm strength, and is concerned about Glennon's hip fluidity. Consider their draft status "stable" for now.
* Oregon running back Kenjon Barner was one of the standouts on the North offense. The straight-line speed and elusiveness was as good as expected, but Barner also showed good balance running between the tackles. He's someone to keep an eye on when the players put on pads.
* This game boasts some of the best defensive and offensive linemen in the draft, and the trench battles did not disappoint. Central Michigan tackle Eric Fisher is a rising name, and his 1-on-1 battle with UCLA DE Datone Jones was the highlight of the day. He's likely competing with Oklahoma tackle Lane Johnson to be the second OT drafted after Luke Joeckel.
* Galko believes that Texas end Alex Okafor may have had the best day out of the defensive ends.
* Washington cornerback Desmond Trufant has been under the radar lately, but he raised some eyebrows Monday with a physical, aggressive performance against Oregon State receiver Markus Wheaton. Another name to watch over the week.
