2014 NFL Draft tight end rankings

How high has Jace Amaro climbed in the first month of the season?

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Spo

It's still early in the season, but Austin Seferian-Jenkins has some company at the top of the 2014 NFL Draft tight end class. While many thought Oregon's Colt Lyerla would push Seferian-Jenkins to be the best tight end in the country, Jace Amaro of Texas Tech has emerged as a serious contender.

This class has three potential top-50 picks. Seferian-Jenkins, Amaro and Eric Ebron of North Carolina will all warrant consideration early in May's draft if they decide to declare. Meanwhile, Georgia's Arthur Lynch has gotten off to a fast start.

It sounds like a broken record at this point, but this position will be heavily dependent on underclassmen. Considering the drop-off in talent, the tight end class would be underwhelming if the top juniors decide to return to school.

As it stands, here are our top draft-eligible tight ends.
