2013 NFL Combine: Dee Milliner firms up top 10 spot

The Alabama cornerback raced his way into a top spot in the 2013 NFL Draft with a blazing 40 time at the Combine.

At the NFL Combine, Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner secured his spot in the top 10 of the 2013 NFL Draft, if he wasn't there already.

Pure speed was the big question mark about Milliner and he answered it running unofficial 40-yard dash times of 4.31 and 4.37 seconds.

Milliner’s performance in Indianapolis was important because he won’t participate in Alabama’s March 13 pro day. After he gets back from the combine, Milliner will have surgery for a torn labrum on March 12. That’s right, he blazed up the track at Lucas Oil Stadium with a torn ligament.

During his media session, Milliner said it will be a two-month rehab process following surgery.

“I could’ve had it right after the game, but I felt the need - I had to come out and do something,” Milliner said Sunday. “I didn’t just want to sit out the combine and pro day, and then y’all guys get to wondering, saying this and that, so I just wanted to come out and showcase that I can move around, I can run, and I swing my arm around.”

Wonder who teams could trade up for? Along with the top offensive tackles, Milliner is one as well. With so many in need of good cornerbacks, and Milliner being unquestionably the best in the draft, teams will have to trade ahead of the Detroit Lions to get him.

“I feel like I am the best defensive back in all of this,” Milliner said. “No offense to all them other DB’s, just I believe in what I can do and all the plays that I can make.”
