We learned at the NFL Combine that former SMU Mustangs' defensive end Margus Hunt is an athletic freak of nature, a prospect scouts both couldn't stop fawning over and couldn't quite figure out completely at the time.
NFL Draft 2013: Margus Hunt may wind up in first round
The SMU defensive end reportedly won’t be around after the first round of the NFL Draft.

Whatever mystery remains regarding Hunt, however, might be giving way to his increasingly unavoidable potential at the next level. To wit, here’s NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport via Twitter on Wednesday:
Thanks autocorrect to making me mess up MARGUS Hunt's name. Word is, a guy who can step in physically immediately. "Won't get past 1st rnd"
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 27, 2013
So, according to a scout in Rapoport’s rolodex, Hunt isn’t going to be on NFL Draft big boards for long in April. (And if you’re curious, the autocorrect misspelling was “Marcus,” which makes sense).
Dan Kadar’s latest mock draft for SB Nation doesn’t have him going in the first 32 picks. He is a member of the defensive line group, though, one of the deepest positions in this year’s draft. For example: Hunt is SB Nation’s eighth-ranked defensive end, and he’s now rumored to be a first-round lock. That’s depth.
