Arizona quarterback Matt Scott ‘blowing up’ Pro Day

Arizona quarterback Matt Scott reportedly put on a show for scouts at his Pro Day on Thursday. Did he solidify a spot in the first two days of the NFL Draft?

Arizona quarterback Matt Scott is making a big move up draft boards. After showing well at the NFL Combine in February, he is reportedly putting on an impressive encore performance at Arizona Pro Day on Thursday in front of NFL scouts.

According to Pauline, the Jacksonville Jaguars were well represented in Tucson to watch Scott work out. Team reps from the Arizona Cardinals were also on hand. Both of those teams finished among the bottom five in the league in terms of passer rating.

Scott possesses excellent measurables. In Indianapolis, he ran a 4.69 40-yard dash after weighing in at 6'2, 213 pounds. He was very productive in Rich Rodriguez' spread-option offense last season, completing 60 percent of his passes for 3,620 yards, 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. On the ground, he added 506 yards and six touchdowns on 113 carries.

Scott is No. 9 on Dan Kadar’s latest ranking of the top quarterbacks in the 2013 NFL Draft class. If he was a bit raw in his footwork and mechanics during the season, however, he is apparently showing marked improvement in workouts. Scott will be a name worth monitoring until the NFL Draft in late April.
