Alabama Crimson Tide running back Eddie Lacy, unable to participate in either the NFL Combine or the school's pro day, worked out Thursday in Tuscaloosa and looked "out of shape," according to NFL.com's Bucky Brooks, who was on the scene.
NFL Draft 2013: Eddie Lacy ‘disappointing’ in workouts Thursday
Eddie Lacy didn’t exactly impress, according to one scout, at his Thursday workout.

Brooks, who also called Lacy’s workout “disappointing,” reported that the Crimson Tide running back, the top prospect at the position and 35th-best overall player in the draft according to SB Nation’s Mocking the Draft team, posted a 32.5-inch vertical leap. Brooks also reported that Lacy ran the 40-yard dash in 4.57 and 4.60 seconds, respectively.
It could, as Brooks says later, call Lacy's work habits into question, since it didn't appear that he was able to finish drills with the same amount of energy that he started them with. As of now, Lacy, once thought to be a first-round pick, is projected to be going in the second round in Matthew Fairburn's mega three-round mock draft for SB Nation, behind North Carolina back Giovani Bernard, whom Fairburn believes has now surpassed Lacy as the draft's top running back.
Still, Lacy has immense talent. Brooks also adds that the game appears easy for Lacy, and that the back has “outstanding talent” as a runner and receiver.
