Former LSU Tigers cornerback/punt returner Tyrann Mathieu is going all over the country, meeting with NFL teams and attempting to rebuild a reputation tarnished after he was dismissed from the football team before the start of the 2012 season.

This means being pretty honest about his past drug abuse, which is why Mathieu, in a report from Jarrett Bell of USA Today on Thursday, was quoted as saying that he “quit counting at 10” drug tests that he failed during his time at LSU. The question was posed during one of his ongoing visits with 10 NFL teams and, to his credit, he doesn’t seem to be holding back on any of the details.

While Mathieu is of course taking much of the blame for his past problems on this nationwide tour, one unnamed NFL coach also put some of the blame on LSU, saying in Bell’s report, “If he (Mathieu) flunked 10 tests before they suspended him, it shows that he got no kind of help.”

Mathieu is the No. 16-rated cornerback prospect in the draft rankings by SB Nation's Dan Kadar, and is projected to be taken in the third round by the Seattle Seahawks in Matthew Fairburn's latest three-round mega mock draft for SB Nation.
