2013 NFL Draft: Jarvis Jones not a first-round talent, according to Gil Brandt

Will Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones fall out of the first round? NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt believes so.

Dale Zanine-US PRESSWIRE

Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones is going to drop out of the first round in the latest mock draft from NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brant. Brandt, who served as the Cowboys vice president of player personnel from 1960-1989, is not sure that Jenkins is a "first-round talent."

The 6'2, 245-pound outside linebacker was one of the top pass rushers in college football over the past two seasons, notching 14.5 sacks in 2012. Jones raised a red flag earlier this offseason due to his spinal stenosis, but he has since passed all medical tests. A slow 40-yard-dash time at the Georgia pro day has also hurt his stock.

In Brandt's last mock draft, on March 27, he slotted Jones to the Steelers with the No. 17 pick, but was less than complementary in his review, questioning both his speed and size, saying "I like some things about him, but overall, I'm not nearly as enthusiastic as many other observers."

The latest from Mocking the Draft has Jones going to the New Orleans Saints with the No. 15 overall pick.
