NFL Draft 2013: Reid Fragel’s stock on the rise?

Ohio State offensive tackle Reid Fragel is moving up draft boards across the league.

US PRESSWIRE

Ohio State offensive tackle Reid Fragel is one of the hotter players in the 2013 NFL Draft, moving up draft boards around the league, according to Russ Lande of National Football Post.

The 6’7, 308-pound Fragel is listed as the No. 133 prospect on the Mocking the Draft big board, but his stock is on the rise now that nearly every team has had their pro day. Fragel made the move from tight end to tackle prior to his senior season and has impressed with his potential for a player still relatively new to the position. His height, long arms, and athleticism are his strongest traits and show that he has the size and leverage needed to compete in the NFL.

The biggest concern about Fragel is his strength. At 308-pounds he still has a tendency to get driven backwards by power rushers. As Lande points out, "teams are always concerned when a player is already 300-plus pounds and played at a program, like Ohio State, that has an outstanding strength and conditioning program and still struggles with playing strength."

Despite concerns over his strength, Fragel has risen to a fourth-round pick with the potential to land late in the third round.
