2014 NFL Draft tight end rankings

At the top it’s Washington’s Austin Seferian-Jenkins, and the next-best tight end isn’t even close.

Otto Greule Jr

The tight end class for the 2014 NFL Draft has a clear-cut No. 1 player in Washington junior Austin Seferian-Jenkins. After him, there are some questions.

Last season, Seferian-Jenkins had 69 receptions for 852 yards and seven touchdowns. Those numbers were better than Notre Dame’s Tyler Eifert and Stanford’s Zach Ertz. He’s a highly athletic player who used to moonlight on the Huskies’ basketball team. He even lined up at defensive end at times.

But there are some injury issues with Seferian-Jenkins. He had a leg issue last season and broke his finger this offseason. He also been hit with a DUI and spent a day in jail. When everything is right with Seferian-Jenkins, though, he's one of those tight ends you see as being the next Rob Gronkowski.

Oregon's Colt Lyerla is a dynamic player. But how much is he a product of the Ducks' system? C.J. Fiedorowicz of Iowa has the size, but is he a good enough athlete? It's just the opposite with North Carolina's Eric Ebron.

Here are our initial tight end rankings for the 2014 NFL Draft. Who is too high and who should be lower?
