It's officially mock draft season now that ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has released the first version of his 2014 NFL Mock Draft. The first version sure was an interesting one, too.
2014 NFL Mock Draft: Mel Kiper has Texans taking Johnny Manziel
Kiper stirred up draft discussion by putting Johnny Football at the top of his mock draft.

Kiper kicked things off by giving Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel to the Houston Texans with the No. 1 overall pick. To make matters even more interesting, Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater fell all the way to the Minnesota Vikings at No. 8 and was the third quarterback off the board. Kiper predicted Blake Bortles of Central Florida would be Cleveland's choice at No. 4. The Jaguars passed on both quarterbacks to select Jadeveon Clowney with the No. 3 pick.
After that, Kiper's mock wasn't too out of the ordinary. He included Louisville safety Calvin Pryor and Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde in his first round. Oregon State defensive end Scott Crichton also snuck into the end of round one.
Kiper’s mock draft certainly got people talking, but it wasn’t the only mock of the day. Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks of NFL.com also put out their first mock drafts Wednesday with some similar trends. Teddy Bridgewater was not the No. 1 overall pick. Both had Clowney going No. 1, while Brooks had Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson coming off the board with the No. 2 pick.
