2014 NFL Draft: Jaguars to host 10 top prospects for visits

Teddy Bridgewater, Khalil Mack and Johnny Manziel are among a list of top 2014 NFL Draft prospects who are scheduled to visit the Jacksonville Jaguars this week.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are owners of the No. 3 and 39 selections in the 2014 NFL Draft and they've given zero indication as to what they might do with those two picks. They continued to stir up mystery on Tuesday morning when a slew of reports tallied 10 players who are all set to visit EverBank Field in the coming days.

Among the list of players visiting Jacksonville (as reported by Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN), are five quarterbacks, each of whom could be selected in the first two rounds of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Pos Player School SB Nation rank
QB Teddy Bridgewater Louisville 2
OLB Khalil Mack Buffalo 4
OT Greg Robinson Auburn 6
QB Johnny Manziel Texas A&M 16
OLB Anthony Barr UCLA 21
DL Stephon Tuitt Notre Dame 29
QB Derek Carr Fresno State 37
OLB Kyle Van Noy BYU 53
QB Zach Mettenberger LSU 69
QB Jimmy Garoppolo Eastern Illinois 85

Bridgewater, Mack and Manziel have each been projected to the Jaguars often in mock drafts, as the team is especially needy at quarterback and could certainly use a boost to its pass rush. Almost all of the other prospects scheduled to visit the Jaguars would also fill those needs, with the exception of Robinson.

The selection of Robinson with the No. 3 pick would be an especially bizarre one after Jacksonville selected offensive tackle Luke Joeckel with the No. 2 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. After suffering a broken ankle in October, Joeckel is expected to be back for the team in 2014 and starting at left tackle.

In the latest mock draft from SB Nation’s Dan Kadar, eight of the 10 prospects scheduled to visit the Jaguars were selected, with Mettenberger and Garoppolo each slipping out of the top two rounds.
