49ers vs. Falcons: Jim Harbaugh’s team ‘determined and focused’

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh met with the media briefly on Wednesday, as the 49ers continue to prepare to take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, with a trip to Super Bowl XLVII on the line.

Although Harbaugh didn't reveal any details of his strategy, he did note that Justin Smith, who suffered a partially torn left triceps during San Francisco's thrilling Sunday Night Football win over the New England Patriots, "felt good" after San Francisco's win over Green Bay.

“I don’t know about 100, 90 or 95 percent,” said Harbaugh, “but somewhere in there.” Smith played 55 snaps on Saturday night, recording five tackles.

Without going into specifics, Harbaugh praised Atlanta's gameplan against the Seahawks, calling it "outstanding," and noting that the Falcons were "very effective" shutting down Seattle's running game.

Harbaugh was asked how his team responded to being anointed Super Bowl favorites, and responded by saying, “if people praise you, kick them on the shins and get back to work.” Harbaugh noted that his team is “determined and focused” on the NFC title game -- which is “the most important game on the schedule.”

San Francisco’s head coach shed some light on his locker room stunt. Harbaugh posted each player’s high school recruiting picture and profile atop their locker, saying that its meaning is different to each player.

Harbaugh ended the press conference on a light note, saying that recruiters missed out on him coming out of high school -- and that he couldn’t post a picture and profile of himself, since the Internet did not exist in 1982.
