NFL playoffs 2013 schedule: Championship games set for Sunday

The 49ers and Falcons are the early game, while the Patriots host the Ravens on Sunday night.

The second-biggest weekend in the NFL is set to be a good one.

The AFC and NFC Championship games will be played Sunday afternoon. In the early game, the top-seeded Atlanta Falcons will host the dangerous No. 2 San Francisco 49ers. Following that game, the high-flying New England Patriots' offense will host the underdog Baltimore Ravens.

No. 1 Atlanta Falcons (13-3) vs. No. 2 San Francisco 49ers (11-4-1)
Sunday, Jan. 20, 3 p.m. ET

In the first matchup of these two teams this season, both carry some momentum into the NFC Championship game. Despite blowing a 20-0 lead and allowing three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, Atlanta beat the Seattle Seahawks, 30-28, thanks to a last-second 49-yard-field goal by Matt Bryant. The Green Bay Packers stuck with the 49ers for the first three quarters of their divisional round game, but two fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns put the game away. 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two touchdowns in the win.

Sunday, Jan. 20, 6:30 p.m. ET

Old rivals meet again. In a rematch of last year's AFC Championship game, the Patriots host the Ravens on Sunday night. That game ended when Billy Cundiff couldn't hit a 32-yard field goal to push the game into overtime. While the Patriots are the home team Sunday, the Ravens were the team that won the regular season matchup Sept. 23. Ironically, that game was won when Ravens kicker Justin Tucker hit a 27-yard field goal as time expired.
