Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed is "speechless" about being able to play in the Super Bowl in front of his Louisiana home crowd, according to the Baltimore Sun. Fortunately, Reed isn't actually "speechless," and had more to say on being able to visit his family amid Super Bowl preparations.

Reed said that playing his first Super Bowl in New Orleans is “special,” and that he’s going to enjoy it and “not hold anything in, any emotions.” He plans to spend time at Dragos, a popular restaurant in New Orleans but is most excited to visit his family for some homestyle Cajun cooking.
The big story around Reed specifically is where his career goes from here. He’s been talking about potentially retiring for multiple seasons now, and calling it a career on the back of potentially winning a Super Bowl certainly sounds like a good end to things.
But during the media festivities, Reed made it clear that he has no plans to retire, win or lose on Sunday. He said he's not focused on the retirement talk. Many have wondered if he will follow Ray Lewis, who is set to retire after the Super Bowl himself.
Reed squashed that talk, saying that he and Lewis are very similar, but are on totally different career paths.
Still, if Reed did call it a career, he’d retire as one of the best safeties to ever play the game, and one of the best players to ever suit up for the Ravens. Playing in Louisiana in front of family and friends on the biggest stage in the NFL is just icing on the cake.
