Pittsburgh Steelers opponents 2026: Who’s on the schedule, how easy or hard will their schedule be

The Steelers made the playoffs in 2025. We already know their 2026 opponents and we’ll take an early look at the slate.

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2025 campaign played out the same way all of their campaigns have played out in recent years under Mike Tomlin…a maddeningly inconsistent season where they do just enough to sneak into the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers looked every bit of 42 years old, but his play was still an upgrade over what they’ve had at quarterback in recent years and it was just enough to keep their heads above water throughout the season. Their playoff hopes were nearly dashed in a Week 18 winner-take-all showdown against the Ravens, but a last-second missed field goal by Baltimore kicker Tyler Loop secured them the AFC North title and a home game in the postseason.

The offseason will be filled with questions over whether or not Rodgers will hang it up and we don’t know what the makeup of this team will be come September. But for now, we at least know their opponent list for 2026.

Pittsburgh Steelers schedule analysis

The Steelers will have eight home games and nine road games next season pending the announcement of the matchups for the 2026 international games. The rotation will include matchups against the entire NFC South and AFC South, along with their usual six divisional games within the AFC North. Since they won the division, they will be matched up with the first-place finishers of the NFC East (Eagles), AFC West (Broncos), and AFC East (Patriots) to round out the 17-game schedule.

The Steelers have a pretty easy slate on paper to look forward to next year as they have just six matchups against 2025 playoff participants. Denver will be the toughest game of a pretty favorable home slate while their toughest road matchups will be trips to Jacksonville, New England, and an in-state battle against Philly. Of course, there’s the strong possibility of the rest of the AFC North improving as the Ravens, Bengals, and even Browns could all re-emerge as playoff contenders after their respective disappointing seasons in 2025. Still, this is the exact type of schedule for Tomlin and company to once again sneak into the postseason.
