Kirk Cousins is known for a lot of things.

Football fans everywhere are pretty familiar with his signature “you like that!” phrase that he authored many years ago. He is as synonymous with quarter zips as anyone on the planet. There are, as noted, specific things about Kirk that are pretty common knowledge from any and every NFL fans.

Did you know that he is a huge San Antonio Spurs fan, though? I learned this about a decade ago and finally had a chance to pick his brain about it all when he joined SB Nation for a chat in San Francisco at Super Bowl LX. You can watch our conversation below.

Rocket is using the Super Bowl Experience to spotlight connection. Just as the Super Bowl brings people together through sports, neighbors are what connect our homes to our communities. With only about 26% of Americans saying they know all or most of their neighbors, according to Pew Research Center, Rocket is using this moment to remind fans how everyday connections between neighbors can strengthen the places we live and why that message feels especially timely right now.

Kirk joined us on behalf of Rocket and is a huge supporter of how the company takes care of people which is classic Kirk Cousins. We didn’t exactly talk quarter zips, but we did talk about Mr. Rogers and given that he was the ultimate neighbor this campaign made sense for Mr. Quarter Zip himself.

On the subject of the Spurs, I had to know who Kirk’s favorite one of all time was that wasn’t one of the big three in Tim Duncan (his instinctual answer), Tony Parker, or Manu Ginobili. He offered Bryn Forbes as Bryn is a Michigan State Spartan like Cousins himself, but after some more thinking decided on Sean Elliott (who is an Arizona Wildcat, which is difficult for this Sun Devil).

Kirk Cousins knows ball. Literally.
