Update: Jaxon Smith-Njigba cleared concussion protocol, and has returned to the Super Bowl.

The Seattle Seahawks are enjoying the run of play here in Super Bowl XL, as Seattle holds a 12-0 lead late in the third quarter over the New England Patriots.

But Seattle might have to go the rest of the way without star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

The Seahawks standout wide receiver has been dealing with a lower-leg injury during Super Bowl LX, and was spotted getting a bandage applied to his leg earlier in the game. But then he was taken to the blue medical tent, and the concussion spotter was seen entering the tent after him:

After being checked out in the blue medical tent, he was then taken back to the locker room, still followed by the NFL’s independent concussion specialist.

Smith-Njigba has three catches for 24 yards late in the third quarter.

But with the way the Seattle defense has been playing tonight, the Seahawks’ 12-0 lead could just be enough for them to salt away the victory.

According to an update from Ian Rapoport, Smith-Njigba is being evaluated for a concussion.
