It is official.

Aaron Rodgers is returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers for another season.

After months of speculation, Rodgers has agreed with Pittsburgh to terms on a new one-year deal to return to the Steelers for the 2026 season, where he will be reunited with Mike McCarthy.

The two spent 13 seasons together in Green Bay, reaching the playoffs during nine of those campaigns. That stretch also included eight consecutive playoff appearances, and the pair helped the Packers win Super Bowl XLV during the 2010-2011 season.

Rodgers also won his first two NFL MVP awards under McCarthy, first in 2011 and then in 2014.

The veteran quarterback helped the Steelers reach the playoffs last season, his first in Pittsburgh. The Steelers needed a win in the season finale against the Baltimore Ravens to reach the postseason, but were eliminated by the Houston Texans during Wild Card Weekend.

Rodgers finished the 2025-2026 season having completed 65.7% of his passes for 3,322 yards and 24 touchdowns, against seven interceptions.

According to Tom Pelissero, Rodgers’ deal with the Steelers includes $22 million guaranteed and is worth up to $25 million with incentives. The quarterback is expected to attend OTAs, which begin on Monday.

The Steelers open the 2026 season at home against the Atlanta Falcons.
