Mike Singletary and the San Francisco 49ers thought they were turning their season around last week -- apparently not.
Week 7 Scores And Results: Niners Drop Another One And Fall To Panthers, 20-17
QB Matt Moore had a field day against the Niners’ secondary, completing 28 of 41 passes for 308 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
In a losing effort, QB Alex Smith was forced to leave the game late with a shoulder injury. In his place, QB David Carr completed 5 of 13 passes for 67 yards with one interception.
The Niners traveled to Carolina in a "must-win" game for the NFC West squad, but that didn't matter. It was a close game throughout, but Niners collapsed late en route to a 23-20 Panthers victory.
K John Kasay won the game via a 37-yard field goal. Kasay had a big day, and made all three field goals he attempted.
