Needing a touchdown as time ran short, the Redskins pulled QB Donovan McNabb for Rex Grossman. Grossman went ahead and fumbled, which Lions DT Ndamukong Suh turned into the season’s most charming fat guy touchdown. NFL Week 8 Scores And Results: Skins Bench Donovan McNabb In 37-25 Loss To Lions
Lions QB Matthew Stafford and WR Calvin Johnson had one of the best performances of their two-year partnership, combining for three of Stafford’s four touchdowns.
Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall continued his Pro Bowl pace, picking off a Stafford pass. The Lions combined for six sacks, with two each by Suh, DE Kyle Vanden Bosch, and DT Cliff Avril. Suh now has 7.5 sacks, which would be a great 16-game total for a veteran defensive tackle.
Washington falls to 4-4 with a bye week on the way, while the 2-6 Lions welcome the Jets next week.
