Are you ready for another “Will he or won’t he?” week from Brett Favre?
Brett Favre Says Lacerated Chin Required Eight Stitches, Expects To Play Next Week
Favre, who left today’s game against the Patriots with a lacerated chin, says that the injury required eight stitches but had no lingering effects. And with no lingering effects, that means Favre will be the prohibitive favorite to start for the Vikings next week against the Arizona Cardinals.
That is, unless the fractures in his foot get worse. Or if Brad Childress is inspired by Tarvaris Jackson’s excellence in the last minutes of today’s game and thinks that he should re-open the competition to be Minnesota’s starting quarterback. Or if the NFL investigation into Favre possibly texting unwanted pictures to former Jets employee Jenn Sterger.
So, basically, Favre should be the starter for the Vikings next week, unless any of the myriad things that could derail him does. Get ready for another exhausting week of Favre Watch.
You might want to get ready for another month or two of it, actually.
