Apparently it’s not only the Sunday night crew that is willing to try hokey gimmicks to gin up excitement before the opening kickoff. To rile up viewers in the pregame thoughts before the Texans and Colts play in Indianapolis, Jon Gruden donned a prop sheriff hat and badge, because of course he’s taken to calling Peyton Manning “The Sheriff” during his time in the MNF booth.

All the more reason to hope that if either Wade Phillips or Brad Childress is fired that Gruden is the immediate replacement.
