Ravens Vs. Falcons: Ed Reed Elbows Matt Ryan In The Helmet

Reedryan_medium

On a 3rd down scramble by Matt Ryan late in the second quarter, Ravens safety Ed Reed hit Ryan in the head with his elbow late into the quarterback’s slide. While Reed’s momentum before Ryan went into his slide meant Reed would have hit Ryan regardless, Reed appeared to have lowered his elbow just before contact with Ryan.

Reed was not flagged on the play. Matt Ryan was able to get a first down anyway. The Ravens challenged the spot on the field, as Ryan appeared very close to the marker, but the ruling on the field was confirmed after review.
