Don’t look now, but the New York Jets are now 7-2 after back-to-back overtime wins on the road.
NFL Week 10 Scores And Results: Jets Win Thriller In Overtime On Holmes Touchdown Grab, 26-20
QB Mark Sanchez had another big game today, and completed 27 of 44 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns. His counterpart, QB Colt McCoy, completed 18 of 31 passes for 205 yards and one touchdown. Neither of the two young quarterbacks threw an interception in the game.
In overtime, K Nick Folk missed a 48-yard field goal, and the Browns had a chance to win. However, while they were driving, WR Chansi Stuckey (former Jet) fumbled the football and the Jets recovered. With just under a minute to go in extra time, Sanchez found Holmes on a quick slant and it was a foot race after that. Holmes won it, and 37 yards later found the end zone, giving the Jets the 26-20 victory.
The Jets utilized a strong power-running game and rushed for 177 yards. RB Shonn Greene was the workhorse today, and carried the ball 20 times for 72 yards.
For the Browns, RB Peyton Hillis had a strong first half (10 carries for 60 yards and one touchdown), but the Jets shut him down in the second half.
The Browns had the football with just minutes remaining in regulation, down 20-13. McCoy lead his team down the field and tied it on a pass to Massaquoi with under a minute left to go. However, the Jets dominated most of the game, and left Cleveland as victors.
